Padiham made it four points from six over the Easter period on Monday as they beat local rivals Clitheroe 2-0 at the Arbories, to complete a seasonal treble over the Ribble Valley side.
Playing against a strong wind, the Storks had to work hard in the first half, restricting the visitors to two chances, the first coming 10 minutes from the break, as Dominic Mulkerrin won possession and fired over from 20 yards, before, a minute before half-time, a free kick found Ross Dent, who headed over.
Two minutes earlier, however, Padiham had taken the lead when, from the move of the game, Storks keeper Sean Davis found Kieron Pickup, who, in turn picked out Lee Ashcroft, and from his lay-off, Dominic Craih raced away to shoot past keeper Alex Palffy.
A lively start by the visitors after the restart was squashed when Padiham doubled their lead just after the hour mark.
Mark Sharples’ sweetly-taken free kick caused mayhe in the heart of Clitheroe’s defence, and Michael Morrison edged the ball goalwards, where Charlie Collinge turned it into his own net from close range.
Clitheroe continued to try and get back into the game, but couldn’t beat Davis, who saved well on 70 minutes from James Walker, and made another top save to prevent Dent’s screamer finding the net 10 minutes later.
Dent had one further chance, but volleyed over with three minutes left.
Padiham round off their first Evo-Stik First Division North campaign tomorrow when they travel to face Ossett Albion.
