Honours were even at the end of this high-scoring local derby, which saw the advantage shift from side to side on several occasions throughout the 90 minutes.

The hosts got off to the best possible start when Woods gave them the lead after six minutes.

The visitors responded well, and after 16 minutes drew level thanks to Neal.

Ellis gave the Old Boys the lead with 30 minutes gone, however, within the space of five minutes, Worsthorne had equalised and regained the lead thanks to Whittam and Uttley respectively.

On the stroke of half-time the visitors were back on level terms thanks to Cunningham.

After the break Ellidge gave the Old Boys the lead when he broke through the home defence, but the lead was not held for long before Woods scored from close range.

In the closing stages of the game, the visitors were awarded a free kick just outside penalty area, which Ellis struck home to give them a 5 -4 advantage, but with only a few minutes remaining, Worsthorne were awarded a penalty from which they scored to send both teams home with a share of the spoils.
