Costa Unida Football Club from Marbella stopped off in Burnley on a tour of Lancashire to try their luck against various teams from around the Red Rose county.

They drew 1-1 with Fleetwood Town’s Under 16s, won 3-1 against Burnley’s Under 16s and lost 3-2 against Accrington Stanley’s Under 18s.

The boys, who are part of the Under 16s squad, were here on trial in the hope of securing a scholarship once they leave school.

The visit marks a return to his home town for 14-year-old local lad Jacob Webber, who moved to spain with his family nine years ago.

Jacob said: “It’s good to be back playing football in the town i was born. We know how lucky we are to get the chance to come over here and play against these other teams.

“We all love the game and it’d be amazing if any of us ended up playing professionally.”

Their coach and director of the club Jamie Fullarton, formerly with Crystal Palace, who has coached the boys from a very young age.
