Max and Ben at treble in Readstone United romp

READSTONE United Under 8s enjoyed an excellent 8-4 victory over Fulledge Colts, as man of the match Max Gibson and Ben Higginson both hit hat-tricks.

Daniel Cotton and Taylor Smith were also on target for United.

Readstone’s Under 9s Yellows had a hard fought 3-2 victory over Belvedere Juniors.

Owen Parker scored an excellent hat-trick, with Charlie Nowell named man of the match, although all of the players deserve praise.

• PENDLE Forest Under 10s returned to the top of the East Lancashire League with a fine 6-1 away win against Rossendale Valley. Brandon Howley scored a hat-trick, Thomas Holden added a brace and man of the match Luke Stowe completed the scoring.

Forest Under 10s Phantoms lost 3-1 to Pendle’s Under 10s Tornadoes in the North Valley League. Goals from Jasper Ashworth, Thomas Entwistle and star man Alfie Percival sealed victory.

A great free kick from Tom Bolton proved a consolation.

Forest’s Under 10s Warburtons side beat Ighten Leigh 2-1, with goals from Isaac Routh and Reece Lewis. Elliot Barker was man of the match.
