LOWERHOUSE Junior Football Club recently held a sponsored swim at the Halstead Centre to help raise money for club funds to go towards new training kits.
The team at The Halstead Centre, on Liverpool Road, Burnley, kindly offered the use of their pool for free for two and a half hours, as each child set their own managable target and found their own sponsors.
The children present ranged from the club’s Litle Stars, who are Under 6s, right up to the Under 15s’ team.
Declan Wilson-Clayton, who plays for the Under 12s’ team, swam 168 lengths - over a mile - and raised around £250 alone.
Club secretary Gemma Drury said: “We are really grateful for the Halstead Centre’s help, they have been a great support and gave us the pool and staff for free.”
