Blessed Trinity football star Kasom Shah has earned a county call-up.
Kasom, who is captain of the Ormerod Road school’s Year Nine football side, went to a trial where there was more than 100 pupils vying for 26 places.
Kasom, who is in Accrington Stanley’s Academy, secured a slot in Lancashire’s Under 14 team.
“I was nervous before the trials but I was excited at being selected and I have played one game for Lancashire now,” said Kasom, who lives on Colne Road in Burnley.
Kasom is noticeable as he wears Edgar Davids-style goggles while playing and admits: “I get some stick at times but I like them! I am learning all the time at Accrington and my dream is to go as far as I can in my football career.”
“Kasom is one of a number of players within Stanley’s Academy who is representing their county team,” said Stanley’s Youth Development Lead Coach Dave Fitzgerald.
