Blessed Trinity’s Year Seven football team are through to the last eight of Lancashire Schools Cup competition, led by Burnley Centre of Excellence player Jak McKinley.
Jak, 12, has been at Turf Moor for three years, even though he admits to being a secret fan of Manchester United.
Jak used to play for Rishton United and Padiham before he was snapped up by the Clarets, and can play anywhere except goalkeeper and centre back.
“I think my best assets are my pace as I am also a member of the school’s athletics team,” said Jak.
He helped his school side chalk up wins against Unity and Shuttleworth before they saw off Clitheroe Royal Grammar School 4-2 in the last round with goals from Tom Claxton , Luke Stowe and two from Alfie Percival to progress to the last eight of the county competition.
