It was a disappointing weekend for the Burnley FC Girls and Ladies teams in action, with only the Under 15s and Under 9 Blues managing to pick up any points.
The Under 15s continued their strong start to their title defence, this time with a comprehensive 11 – 0 win away at Golborne. In a match where goals came easily, Emily Nyugen celebrated her birthday with her first goal for the club.
The Under 9 Claret squad made it two wins from two games in their debut league campaign, this time with an excellent home win against Crosby Stuart. Manager Mick Preston and coach Adela Rodriguez are delighted with their squad’s excellent start to the season.
The Under 9 Blues missed out in their home game against a strong Lostock Hall side, but scored the opening goal of their season which will give them confidence for next week’s long trip to play Rainford Rangers.
Both the Under 12s and the Under 13s lost their unbeaten records, both against strong Blackpool sides, with the Under 11s and Under 16s also being beaten.
