The lady Clarets kicked off their 2015/16 league campaign with a 5-2 win at Curzon Ashton.
A good start by the Clarets turned into a one goal deficit when, on 15 minutes, Curzon scored from their first attack, a smart through ball enabling pacey striker Angelica Uqari to finish smartly.
Undeterred, the Clarets pushed on and drew level three minutes later when a goal mouth melee provided an opportunity for Grace Bullock, who drilled into the bottom left-hand corner.
Curzon regained the lead when a long ball drew the Clarets keepe, Karly Bland, out of her area, only to be deceived by the high bounce on the artificial surface, Jenna Pannell benefiting from this misfortune.
Burnley captain Jo Holt levelled when she headed home a well-placed corner by Bullock.
A goal from star performer Justine Wallace edged the Clarets into the lead prior to half-time.
In the second period the Clarets were able to extend their advantage. A high shot from midfield powerhouse Joanna Rohman was palmed by the keeper into the path of Becky Hayton, who arrowed her shot low into the net.
Burnley sealed victory when a Rohman corner kick found new signing Holly Hunter, who fed Sarah Greenhalgh, who turned towards goal and shot into the right hand corner.
The Lady Clarets next travel to Penrith Ladies for the second qualifying round of the women’s FA cup.
The Burnley Ladies Development team triumphed 3-0 in their first game of the season against Bolton Wanderers, with goals from Phoebe Hindle, Alice Routledge and Jade Brindle.
