Fulledge Colts earn last 16 place

FULLEDGE Colts Under 15s moved into the last 16 of the Lancashire Cup with a 5-0 win over Manchester side AFC Monton.

After a goalless first half in which the Colts missed chance after chance, Fulledge were awarded a penalty, which Charlie Carlin converted.

Ben Beardsell then added two well-taken quickfire goals to make it 3-0.

With Kaine Byker and Kieron Stockdale overlapping, AFC Monton had no answers, and when Carlin lobbed the keeper for number four, Fulledge were playing their best football of the season.

Elliot Irving and Luke Pearson were in total command at the back, and the locals added a fifth when a short pass from Byker met the right boot of Declan Heavican, who left the keeper with no chance.

Man of the Match was Jack Sudall.

Fulledge Under 12s’ Sunday side beat Blue Star 5-2 with two goals for Taylor James Commons and one each for Owen Westall, James Ellinson and Chaz Bateson, who also picked up the man of the match award.

• PENDLE Forest Under 9s Pythons lost 4-0 to older opposition in Daneshouse AC in a great game of football, with man of the match Brandon Howley starring for the Pythons.

Forest’s Under 9s Cobras secured another away win, recording a 5-0 victory against Ighten Leigh Under 10s Purple, with a hat-trick from Ethan Connor and further strikes from Alfie Percival and Jasper Ashworth.

Man of the match was Isaac Routh.

Pro Future were the opposition for Pendle Forest Under 8s Vipers.

A hard-fought game resulted in goals for Morgan Hill, man of the match Owen Anforth and two for Connor Turner.

There was a good performance in goal from both Morgan Hill and George Riley.
