Michael Keane is looking forward to gracing Turf Moor on Thursday night.
Keane has only made one appearance for the Clarets since arriving on loan from Manchester United on deadline day, and his only appearance at the Turf came in the U21 Premier League Cup defeat against Hull City.
But the 21-year-old is expected to feature for England Under 21s against Portugal, and he said: “We’re all really looking forward to it. I’m sure it will be an exciting game to watch.
“We know it will be a big test, but we don’t shy away from these tests - we have some good players and hopefully we’ll get a good result and a performance.”
Keane added: “I’m just looking forward to playing, getting a game. I haven’t played on Turf Moor yet for the first team, so hopefully I can play well.
“It has been frustrating that I haven’t been playing, but I can’t complain, especially against Hull. The lads played well and kept a clean sheet.”
