Clarets striker Danny Ings has been nominated for the SkyBet Championship Player of the Year accolade.

The England Under 21 international, with 25 goals for the Clarets this term in all competitions, will contest the award alongside Leeds United leading scorer Ross McCormack and Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

The awards are voted for by the managers of the clubs in each division and the winners will be announced on Sunday at the awards ceremony at The Brewery in London.

Last season’s award was won by Watford loanee Matej Vydra - now on loan at West Brom from Serie A outfit Udinese - with Southampton’s Rickie Lambert scooping it in the season before while Adel Taarabt took the plaudits in 2011 with QPR.
