Burnley have signed Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has joined the club on a four-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old can operate both as a defender or midfielder and is Sean Dyche’s second capture of the day after landing Hull City’s George Boyd.

Chalobah, born in Sierra Leone, was the captain of Chelsea’s 2012 FA Youth Cup-winning side, and signed a five-year deal with the Blues last summer.

He came to prominence on loan at Watford during the 2012/13 season, as the Hornets reached the Championship play-off final.

He scored his second senior goal against the Clarets at Turf Moor in December 2012.

Last season he spent a period on loan at Nottingham Forest, before linking up with Middlesbrough.

He has represented England at Under 16, 17, 19 and 21 level.
