Clarets Mad and the Burnley FC Supporters’ Clubs are running an online survey, in conjunction with the Football Supporters’ Federation, on the subject of Safe Standing.

The survey will run until noon on Tuesday, and can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/burnley-safe-standing

Burnley are one of the clubs who support the Safe Standing Campaign, which aims to persuade the government, football authorities and clubs to accept the case for introducing, on a trial basis, limited sections of standing areas at selected grounds in the stadiums of Premier League and Championship clubs.

The FSF backs safe standing for a number of reasons.

Their own national survey of 2012 saw nine out of 10 supporters back the choice to sit or stand.

They feel there should be the choice - those who wish to stand can do, while those who prefer to sit no longer have to worry about having their view blocked.

Safe standing can be introduced within stringent safety standards laid down in the government’s Green Guide.

And prices for standing are lower than in seated areas.
