Burnley will face League One side Port Vale in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The tie, at Vale Park, is scheduled to take place on the week commencing August 10th.

The two sides went head-to-head at this stage of the competition at the start of the 2012/13 term when Chris McCann, Charlie Austin and Dean Marney netted in a 3-1 win.

Last season the Clarets were dumped out of the competition in the second round when Sheffield Wednesday substitute Atdhe Nuhiu struck from the spot in the 78th minute at Turf Moor after skipper Jason Shackell had upended Owls midfielder Jeremy Helan.
