WELSH CALL: Sam Vokes

SUMMER signing Sam Vokes has been added to the list of the Clarets’ international call-ups.

The striker has been included in the Wales squad for World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Serbia on 7 and September 11.

Vokes, who has been capped 22 times by his country, joins Martin Paterson on international duty with Michael Duff and Danny Lafferty on stand-by for Northern Ireland.

Canada name their squad on Thursday for their latest World Cup qualifiers with Clarets’ defender David Edgar having been involved in their earlier rounds.
