BURNLEY have bolstered their strike force by completing the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sam Vokes.
The Clarets have paid an undisclosed fee to sign the 22-year-old Welsh international on a three-year deal.
The move re-unites Vokes with the Clarets following a successful two-month loan spell last season, when he scored two goals in nine appearances between November and January.
Vokes, who scored at home to Ipswich Town and grabbed the winner at West Ham United, later enjoyed a loan spell at Championship rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.
And despite a host of clubs chasing his signature this summer, the highly-rated striker has opted to put down roots at Turf Moor.
Vokes, who started his career alongside Eddie Howe at AFC Bournemouth, joined Wolves in 2008 after notching up an impressive ratio of 16 goals in 54 League appearances for the Cherries.
He went on to make over 50 appearances for Wolves, and has gained further valuable Championship experience during loan spells at Leeds United, Bristol City, Sheffield United and Norwich City.
Internationally, the former U21 striker made his full Welsh debut in May 2008 v Iceland.
His first international goal came against Azerbaijan in their opening 2010 World Cup qualifier in September 2008 and Vokes, who qualifies through a Welsh grandfather, currently has four goals in 21 caps.
Vokes will now join the Clarets on their pre-season tour of the south west.
