Bookies tip Clarets to finish mid-table

WITH the bookies tipping Burnley to finish mid-table this season, some bookmakers are offering just 8/1 on the club to get promoted to the Premiership however both Stan James and Coral are offering better value having priced the Clarets at 10/1 to return to the top flight.

Meanwhile, with the climax of Euro 2012 this Sunday, leading online betting comparison site, Oddschecker.com can reveal there is still value to be had, with BetFred offering 10/3 on a Germany/Gomez double. Spain are still the short priced favourites, with 9/10 at Bwin for the Spanish to emerge victorious.

With the most important fixture to come, the player of the tournament market is still fairly open, Spanish starlet Andres Iniesta is currently favourite at 9/4 with Ladbrokes and William Hill, with Ozil 5/1 and Prilo 8/1 also offering good value.

The 99th Tour de France gets underway this weekend and Oddschecker can reveal that Britain’s Bradley Wiggins, the 11/8 favourite to win this year’s race, was 25/1 to triumph back in August of last year. It’s the first time a Brit has ever started as the favourite and in the 98 years the race has taken place, there has never been a British winner.

Wiggin’s main competition will come from Australian Cadel Evans who won last year’s Tour. Such is the form of both riders, that you can get 7/4 with Paddy Power on any one else winning it.

Twenty-year-old Heather Watson became the first British woman to advance to the Third Round of Wimbledon for a decade. She faces a tough task against third seed Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland and is a best priced 23/5 to upset her higher ranked opponent. Watson began the tournament at 10,000/1 to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish, but is now as short as 150/1 to become the shock new champion.

The service aces have been coming thick and fast this week with Latvian Ernests Gulbis and Spaniard Nicolas Almagro already thumping down a staggering 137 between them in their four matches so far. With that in mind, if you fancy the Men’s Singles Final to be won on an ace, you can snap up the 6/1 currently available with Betfred and Bet Victor.
