Rising stars top the bill at latest Roche show

THREE national boxing champions will head the bill for Roche ABC’s next show.

Jack Steff, Oathey Jones and George Drinkwater will all feature at the Bacup Hub in Burnley Road on November 17th.

Middleweight Steff, 20, will face Wellington ABC’s Peter Martin, ranked number two in Europe, hard-hitting 16-year-old Drinkwater will take on James Thompson in a featherweight bout while 12-year-old Jones will look to maintain his 100 per cent record when he encounters Bootle’s John Whittle in what will be his eighth amateur contest.

“It will be the first time an amateur boxing club from Burnley has featured three national champions on its bill,” boasted trainer Brian Roche. “There will be some cracking fights that will bring the roof down.”
