ON the back of Sunday’s incredible finale at Turf Moor, Burnley received another boost with the news that professional Adnan Rasool will return next season.
The Pakistani off spinner, rated by many as the best bowler in the Lancashire League, has taken 81 wickets at an average of 12.1 over the campaign, including Sunday, with his best figures being the 8-23 taken at Colne - one of six five wicket hauls.
Rasool has also scored 354 runs at 20.8, and Burnley chairman Michael Brown said: “Adnan has been excellent in his first season.
“He is a fantastic bowler, and his attitude and approach have been just what has been required. We look forward to welcoming him back next season.
“Thanks to Nadeem at Bouncer Sports who has been brilliant in the whole process.”
• THE Ribblesdale League programme was wiped out by rain over the weekend.
The only senior games played were on Sunday, as Cherry Tree lost to Whalley by five wickets, and Settle beat Salesbury by eight wickets.
