Blessed Trinity has a long and proud history of sporting achievement.

And the school continues to set high standards over a variety of sports.

Pictured, bottom left, are the Year 11 netball team, who have reigned over the town’s schools throughout their five years of competition, winning every tournament.

The girls’ Year 7, 8 and 9 teams also won their leagues as Blessed Trinity dominated local netball.

The Under 13 badminton team won the Burnley Schools’ competition, earning the right to represent the town against other schools from Lancashire. The team, pictured, top left, was, George Stanworth, Aaron Morris, Marley Byrne and Josh Kilbride. G061211/6d

Meanwhile, all six teams won their cross-country races in the town event - something which is believed to have never previously been achieved.

That meant over 20 Blessed Trinity students went on to represent Burnley in the Lancashire competition in Leyland - which the town won.

Tiarnan Crokren and Marcus Preedy were also selected to go on and represent Lancashire in the English Schools’ event in March in Somerset.

The Year 9 boys’ football team have also reached the last 16 of the English Schools’ competition, out of over 850 schools, while Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 have won their respective 7-a-side football tournaments.
