If Lowerhouse hold off the challenge of rivals Burnley on Sunday at the Neville Gee (Recruitment) Ground, they will toast victory with a special brew honouring one of their own.
Batsman Chris Bleazard recently became the third man to pass 15,000 Lancashire League runs, joining maths Mike Ingham and Dave Pearson, and last week his achievement was marked by Moorhouses commissioning a special brew “Bleazard’s Brilliance”.
Bleazard, 46, made his debut in 1983, and has, up to date, enjoyed 624 innings, scoring 15,143 league runs at an average of 28.30, with seven centuries and 98 50s.
Earlier this month he passed the 15,000 landmark on his way to another ton against Enfield.
In the Worsley Cup - where he was man of the match in both Lowerhouse triumphs in 2004 and 2012, he has added 1,019 runs in 40 innings.
The commemorative brew will be on sale until the end of the season at the club.
