Bailey makes Lowerhouse history

Lowerhouse seconds finished the season in style, beating Rawtenstall to finish sixth, scoring the highest recorded second XI score.

A number of other records were achieved.

Dec Bailey became the first Lowerhouse player to record an innings of 150 , Ben Uttley (59) scored his first senior 50 and Jamie Woodall took his 50th wicket of the season .

Lowerhouse made 329-6 before bowling their opponents out for 93. Woodall took 7-35.

The final third XI game of the season was rained off and the team finished eighth.

Lowerhouse Pandas Under 11s scored 310-2 to Church’s 230-6. Jamie Simpson took 2-7, while Annabelle Uttley (21 not out), Jamie Simpson (20 not out), Will Couch (13 not out), Sam Hancock (13) and Hasan Imran (10 not out) were among the runs.

The side also played Burnley, scoring 241-3 to their derby rivals’ 206-6. George Durkin hit 19 and Charles Wilkes took 2-5.

In a second meeting with Burnley, the Pandas scored 270-3, to their opponents’ 218-5. Durkin top-scored with 32, Imran made 10 not out and Nathan Porter 15.

The youngest team at Liverpool Road is the Under 9s.

They scored 232-3 to Rawtenstall’s 233-3, while against Haslingden, they made 246-2 to their opponents’ 204-8, as Grace Johnson took 2-6 and Adil Imran hit 12.

Against Nelson (261-2), Lowerhouse scored 229-4, as Imran finished on 12 not out.

Myles Carr-Oddie took 2-5 as Todmorden scored 221-6 to Lowerhouse’s 248-2, and against Bacup (243-5), the West Enders made 263-1, as Imran made 18 not out and Hanif Shah 12 not out.

Lowerhouse (234-4) took on East Lancs (241-7), with Harrison Durkin making 10 and Joseph Edgar taking 2-9; Against Bacup (233-8), the ‘House’s (228-5) top performers were Harvey Elliott (2-10) and Adil Imran 20; Against Rishton (265-5), Lowerhouse made 215-4, as Joseph Edgar took 2-6, and against Burnley (281-2), Lowerhouse hit 220-6, as Imran made 19 not out and Edgar 11 not out.
