Annabelle Uttley admits she only got into cricket through brother Ben – but now she is proving a hit on her own.
Blessed Trinity Year Seven pupil Annabelle plays for Lancashire League side Lowerhouse Cricket Club and has been called-up for trials for Lancashire Under 13s.
“I played for Lancashire Under 11s last year but have made the step up this year,” said former Christ the King pupil Annabelle.
“I got into cricket through my brother Ben, who is now 15, who plays for Lowerhouse. I have been playing for around six years – there are two girls in the Lowerhouse Under 11a and Under 13 team among all the boys.
“I don’t mind as I can deal with the fast bowling of the boys – I prefer it to be honest. My ambition is to play for England although I do like football as well and play for Burnley Girls.”
