BUDDING Beckhams are being invited to take part in a community football tournament in Padiham.

The tournament tarts at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 10th, at Shuttleworth College Astro-turf and runs every Friday for eight weeks. It will conclude with a final match and presentation evening at Padiham Football Club with a meal and trophies, medals and certificates being awarded.

The project has been organised by local PCSO Yuwah Cheng and Mary Parker at Padiham Youth Services with the help of Burnley Sports Development and Padiham Town Council.

It will be run in five a-side leagues of 10–13 and 14–16 year olds.

Funding is being provided by Burnley Council, Calico, Places for People and Padiham Town Council.

PCSO Cheng said: "We want as many youngsters to take part as possible. Application packs are available at Padiham Police Station, Padiham Youth Centre, Gannow Community Centre and Hameldon and Shuttleworth Schools and are to be returned to Mary Parker."
