POLICE in the Hapton area are investigating a number of unusual thefts which have taken place over the past three weeks.
Between August 11th-26th, a four-wheeled plant trailer, equipment from a locked steel container and a hydraulic attachment from an earth moving machine, have all been stolen.

Officers say inquiries are ongoing into the thefts but they are appealing for residents to be vigilant and ensure property is stored securely.

PC Graeme Lund said: "Investigations are underway and extra attention is being paid to vulnerable areas, in particular secluded areas. However, in the meantime, we would urge residents and businesses in the affected area to be vigilant, to make sure such items are left in a secure and safe environment and report any suspicious activity."
