AN elderly Padiham man was treated by paramedics for the effects of smoke inhalation following a fire at his home.
Firefighters were called to the house in Cambridge Drive last night after a chip pan set ablaze.

One crew from Padiham and one from Burnley attended the scene at 7-30 p.m. and used a hose reel to put out the flames.

They then used a ventilation unit to rid the house of smoke.

The man was given first aid at the scene but refused to go to hospital.
