HML - which has a base in Padiham - is putting up six teams to hike the 100km "Trailtrekker" charity hike in aid of Oxfam.

The hike will take 28 hours to complete and will take hikers through some of the most spectacular scenery in England as it winds its way through the Yorkshire Dales, starting and finishing in Skipton where HML's principal office is based.

HML hopes to raise at least £9,000 for Oxfam – a total of more than £375 per person taking part. Last year HML raised £88,000 for charitable organisations across its four sites in Skipton, Londonderry, Glasgow and Padiham.

HML's Paul Fenn, a member of one of the trailtrekker teams, said: "This is a fantastic event for a great cause, it's a massive challenge for all taking part and we are committed to raising as much money as possible for Oxfam. Oxfam are hoping to raise £400,000 from 250 teams competing – the pain will be worth the gain for all competitors and for Oxfam."
