We should not get involved in military action in Syria

Here we go again, another Prime Minister the “heir to Blair” David Cameron wanting to take our country to war, this time against Syria and with the enthusiastic support of Tony Blair, the so-called Peace Envoy to the Middle East.

We were dragged into war with Iraq on dodgy evidence and we have been in Afghanistan for longer than the length of the two World Wars put together and at a great cost in lives of our armed service personnel.

The brave armed services are stupidly being savagely cut both in manpower and equipment. They are already overstretched and now expected to do more by the incompetent Government.

While the situation in Syria is dire, the Assad regime is brutal, we still know little about the rebels and what they really stand for. This proposed action has all the hallmarks of another costly folly brought on by clueless politicians, that will cause more harm than good. Simply, we should not become involved.
