No chance of negotiating with the EU

David Cameron has promised to renegotiate a better deal for Britain with the EU and repatriate powers in the process.

Despite being told by various EC commissioners, including their President Manuel Barroso, it would be impossible, Mr Cameron has made a big issue out of it.

Now it appears arch-federalist Jean-Claude Juncker looks set to become the next head of the European Commission, thanks to the help of the heads of a majority of the other member states, including Angela Merkel, a supposed ally of Mr Cameron.

When will he realise there is no chance of negotiating anything with the EU let alone repatriating any powers?

More importantly, when will he stop conning the electorate into believing he can?
