Fears over future of our postal service

Two items caught my eye in a recent edition of the Leader Times – the gold post box in Colne painted for the fantastic achievement of local cyclist Steven Burke is to be retained, and the congratulations due to Royal Mail staff for their above national average delivery targets in the area, which reflects their dedicated hard work.

What a pity all this is being put in jeopardy by the Government’s selling off of “our Royal Mail”. You only have to look at previous privatisations e.g. power companies, the railways, BT to have concerns about the future of our much-loved postal service.
