Bonkers idea that popular pub would close

editorial image

I am fully supportive of the campaign to save the Alma Inn. However, the comments from Coun. Tatchell are blinkered in the extreme. To say that if the Alma closed, the Hare and Hounds would close, too, is a ridiculous and quite preposterous view.

Coun. Tatchell is obviously on another planet when assessing the merits and popularity of the Hare and Hounds. The pub has a solid, regular group of loyal customers. It’s a pub in the ascendancy. A watering hole with a fine range of ales and TWO successful annual beer festivals.

I appreciate the rallying call, in support of the Alma from Coun. Tatchell but to suggest it would lead to the demise and closure of one of the most popular drinking dens in the area, is bonkers.

Sorry councillor, you clearly express a narrow-minded and totally limited perspective view of the “Top of the Town Triangle”.
