Members of the Guides, Brownies and Rainbows from St Stephens Church have put their best foot forward to raise £1,301 for Pendleside Hospice.

The pupils organised and took part in a sponsored walk with the older children completing a seven mile walk, taking in Hurstwood, while the smaller children ventured up to Towneley Park for their walk around the woodland.

Jim Tabener, the church warden at St Stephens, contacted the hospice who sent two of their volunteers to meet the children and accept the cheque.

Hospice volunteers Brian Hough, who used to be a choir boy at St Stephens, said: “It was one of the best cheque presentations we’ve attended on behalf of the hospice. Meeting the kids and hearing about how they raised money for the hospice was lovely.”
