Young dancers were flying high at prestigious festival

Nimble footed students from Padiham Primary School have made their debut at one of the county's most prestigious dance festivals.

Thirty pupils represented their school and their hometown at the Lancashire Schools Dance Festival at Preston Guild Hall where they were praised for delivering a polished performance.

The children spent weeks rehearsing their set piece based on the classic J M Barrie book, Peter Pan which was in keeping with the theme of exploring children's literature though dance.

They performed to an audience of over 2,000 people including family, friends and teachers who watched their presentation called Finding Neverland.

Just when they thought it was all over, Miss White, the children’s dance teacher, surprised them by joining teachers from the other performing schools on stage to bring to life the popular children’s book, Where’s Wally?

The youngsters then took to the stage for one last time to perform the finale dance to Justin Timberlake’s number one hit, "Can’t Stop the Feeling" along with all the other performers.
