WORSTHORNE: ‘Sausage Evening’ to be staged in St John’s Church

MAYORESS’S COMMITTEE– St John’s Church will be the venue for a Mayoress’s Committee fund-raising event on Wednesday, February 23rd. Butcher George Heys is presenting a “Sausage Evening”.

MAGAZINE – A new editor for the St John’s Church magazine has been appointed. Carolyn Potts has taken over and will compile the March edition.

MOTHERS’ UNION – Eetired vicar the Rev. Keith Richardson presented an illustrated lecture about researching his family history which had taken him on trips to Australia. The Wave of Prayer will be on February 15th at St John’s, Worsthorne, and members will have lunch together before the service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL – At a prize-giving ceremony during the Family Eucharist service, certificates for full attendance went to Georgina Cambridge and Olivia Cambridge. Certificates for excellent attendance went to Sarah Blackston, Georgia Blackston, Isabel Blackston, Georgia Wolstenholme, Charlotte Thorp and Emma Bamber. All received gifts of book tokens.

The new Sunday school queen will be Sarah Blackston and her attendants are going to be Oliver Johnson, Olivia Cambridge, Mia Sheridan and Isabel Blackston.
