Burnley and Pendle’s credit union received a visit from the president of the World Council of Credit Unions.

Mr Brian Branch made the trip to East Lancashire on his way to the 2014 National Credit Unions conference.

He chose Pennine Community Credit Union because of its fast developing national reputation and its contribution to efforts to radically grow credit unions across the country.

Mr Gerard Spain, PCCU president, said: “With 390 credit unions in the country it was a fabulous vote of confidence in PCCU that Brian Branch selected PCCU to visit. We were very proud to receive him.

“He was impressed with both our growth and expansion but also with our continuing commitment to the local community and meeting their specific financial needs.”
