Organisers of the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival have already announced numerous changes ahead of the August spectacular - and the Jessica Foxley Unsigned initiative is also to be freshened up.

Instead of looking for new and different artistes to perform as part of the Jessica Foxley Unsigned initiative, some past winners are going to be brought back and organisers want the pubic to tell them who they want to see again.

The changes are being made to celebrate the success of the project and the musicians it has brought to light, as well as letting Blues fans see how the young artistes have progressed from their first performance at the Festival and listen to them again.

There are a limited number of spots available on the British Stage and four of the official roadhouses, so organisers are keen to hear who wowed to bring together a selection of the best of the best. The Jessica Foxley initiative was first introduced to the Festival in 2010. Since then, every year we have been inundated with bands and musicians wanting to perform at Europe’s number one Blues Festival. Some of the previous artistes have used the event as a springboard to propel themselves into the music world and such is the calibre that some of the bands have returned to perform as part of the festival in their own right. Festival spokesman, Sue Madigan, said: “And that’s what’s going to happen for 2016. Who have you liked over the years?

“The Tom Killner Band? Bright Shapes? Catfish? The Midnight Ramble? The Blind Dead McJones Band or TC and The Moneymakers? It will be really interesting to see what people come up with.
