Burnley’s very own Rapunzel has sacrificed her golden tresses!
Little Evie-Leigh Austin had an amazing 14 inches chopped off her waist length blonde hair.
She is now sporting a very trendy bob that she loves, according to her proud mum Sarah-May Austin. Evie-Leigh is donating her locks to the Little Princess Trust which makes wigs for children with cancer. Although she is just four, Evie-Leigh decided she wanted to do something to help.
The big chop took place at Evie-Leigh’s godfather Paul Palmer’s hair salon in Clitheroe. And on hand to watch was her mum, dad Lee and her sisters 15-year-old Shannon, Lilly-May (six) and brother Brandon who is eight. Sarah-May of Thames Avenue, said: “Evie was fine having her hair cut, I was the nervous one. We are so proud of her because this was all her own idea.
She was determined to give some of her own hair because she wanted to make poorly children feel better. ’’
Aswell as donating her hair Evie-Leigh is also raising money for the charity and so far she has made £1,061. News of Evie-Leigh’s efforts have spread as far away as America and Australia where she has received donations from.
