Workers at Burnley’s new University Technical College had a fab time recreating The Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road album sleeve – with Trafalgar Street stepping in.

Barnfield Construction workers Joe Webber, Theo Coleman, Peter Allan and Mike Riley took on the roles of John, Paul, George and Ringo walking along the zebra crossing, originally photographed in 1969.

Charlotte Pickup, marketing manager for Barnfield, said: “It was actually the site engineer, Joe Webber, who suggested recreating The Beatles’ pose on the zebra crossing.

“We are currently having the image incorporated into a unique piece of signage to liven up part of the hoarding around the next piece of development at On The Banks.”

The zebra crossing has just been installed on Trafalgar Street, outside the Vision Learning Trust’s £10.3m, University Technical College as part of the On The Banks development in Burnley’s historic Weavers’ Triangle.
