Fire chiefs have warned that deliberate fires cost lives following a skip fire in Padiham.
Crews were initially called to a house blaze in River Drive at 5-40am yesterday.
On arrival they found a small skip alight and had to spend an hour extinguishing the fire.
Crew manager Lee Garnett said: “Deliberate fires can cost lives. They also put a strain on fire service resources that may be required elsewhere. If anybody suspects any deliberate fires call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Police are investigating.
