Council bosses have accused people from out of town of trying to stir up trouble after a far-right march was held in Burnley at the weekend.
The North West Frontline Firm held a protest, which passed off peacefully, on Saturday.
But Coun. Mark Townsend, deputy leader of Burnley Borough Council, said: “The protest organisers were not from Burnley, and the protest was not about specific local issues. If they wanted to provoke a reaction or trouble, they have failed.
“Burnley people have shown that they were not interested in any attempt to stir division and trouble.”
