Vandals have caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to a shed containing Burnley and Pendle's prized miniature railway.
The shed , which can be found on the north side of Thompson Park, close to Colne Road, was targeted sometime between Sunday, 5pm and 10am today
Mike Bailey, secretary of Burnley and Pendle Miniature Railway Society, said fortunately the culprits did not manage to get their hands on the railway but it was still going to take a while to sort out the mess they had left.
"They have really had a go at getting in there. This isn't kids. They've used some heavy instruments to try and get through the locks. They even tried lifting the roof.
"Luckily they didn't manage to get in but they've still caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to the shed. Damage we are going to have to fix."
