Arsonists struck three times in one night at a blaze-plagued park in Burnley.
Firebugs wreaked havoc again on Rakeshead Park which has been repeatedly targeted in the past few weeks.
The triple arson attack saw bins and rubbish torched in the space of two hours last night.
Firefighters were called out three times to deal with fire on the blaze-hit park between 10pm and midnight.
Fire crews have been called to nine incidents at the recreation ground in the past month including one where playground equipment has destroyed.
Dan Keddick, of Burnley Fire Station, said: “Apart from being a nuisance to the fire service and a drain on fire service resources it is also a nuisance for residents in the local area not to mention the substantial financial cost to council taxpayers.
“There are only two fire engines at Burnley if one fire engine is attending these types of incidents it is unavailable for more serious fires.”
The three fires are currently being investigated by fire service investigators and the police.
