TOUCHING tributes have been paid to a former Burnley College student killed in a head-on collision in Cliviger.

Adam Madden (18) died when the Ford Fiesta he was driving was involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi in Bacup Road in the early hours of Thursday.

Adam’s heartbroken mum Mandy, brother Ben and girlfriend Bridie said he would be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The young man from Bacup was a former pupil of St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Stacksteads, and All Saints Catholic Language College, Rawtenstall.

His family said: “His infectious character served him well throughout his schooling before going on to Burnley College where he studied electrical engineering before taking full-time employment at Dunbia at Gisburn.

“During his time there, Adam succeeded in all tasks and made many friends. He held great respect for his workmates and supervisors.

“Adam’s death is a tragic loss of an energetic, enthusiastic, lover of life.”

The 45-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to hospital with shock. Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
