FOUR cars were involved in a crash in Crawshawbooth on Sunday afternoon.

Police closed Burnley Road through the village as motorists were diverted following the accident near to St John’s Church around 12-30 p.m.

The four cars involved were a white Rover, silver Chevrolet, black Peugeot and a green Vauxhall.

The driver of one of the vehicles suffered minor injuries and was transferred to the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

A Lancashire police spokesman said: “Traffic between Burnley and Rawtenstall was initially being held at the scene by police but one side of the road was re-opened around 30 minutes after the incident so that traffic in both directions could take turns to get past.”
