The grieving family of a Clitheroe motorcyclist who was killed in a Lake District crash have paid tribute to a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.

Steven Heaney (55), of St Paul’s Street, Low Moor, died after suffering serious injuries in the collision on the Hawkshead to Graythwaite Road, near Lake Windermere, on Saturday about 6 pm.

Mr Heaney was riding a Honda motorbike and came off his bike. No other vehicles were involved.

Today, Mr Heaney’s family paid tribute and described him as “irreplaceable”.

They added: “Steven had been mad about motorbikes for over 40 years and loved going off on day trips to the Lake District with his friends.

“Steven was a loving husband to Susan, father to Patrick and Emma, son to Sam and Norma and grandfather to Kieran and Jason. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.”
