The Burnley community is continuing to rally round in support of the family of schoolboy Luke Mason, who was seriously injured in a road accident.
Blessed Trinity pupil Luke (13) is still in a serious but stable condition at the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, following an accident in Lyndhurst Road. Luke is still unconscious after he suffered serious head injuries following an accidental collision with a car.
A web page, set up to raise funds towards the travelling costs for Luke’s parents Ben and Sarah, has so far raised £890. Writing on the page his aunt Shelley Halliwell said: “Would just like to thank everyone who has donated so far.
“It means so much to us to think how many people care about Luke. He is still stable and we know he will wake in his own time. Keep fighting lil (sic) soldier we love you millions xxx. Thank you for being on our journey with us.”
Other fund-raising efforts included a charity car wash at Burnley ASDA carried out by firefighters from White Watch at Burnley Fire Station.
