Tiny tots in pyjamas say thanks to hospital that has helped so many

A hospital, that has played a major role in the lives of many families in Burnley and Padiham, was the focus of a special fundraising day at a nursery school.

Staff and children at Whitegate Nursery School in Padiham held a onesie and pyjama day which raised £205 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

A parent, whose son was treated there, asked if they could do something to thank the hospital and the response was overwhelming as many other families who have also been helped by the hospital rallied to the call.

One parent said: “My son attends the hospital and I understand all the support they really need.

“The doctors and nurses make the children feel at ease, even at difficult times.”

Another mum said she was proud to get the chance to help the hospital as three members of her family had been treated there.

Philippa Boyd, who is schools’ fundraising officer for Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Charity, went along to receive the cheque from children, parents and staff.
