A nineteen-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a minor head injury after being knocked down on a busy Burnley road.

The young woman was involved in a collision with a black BMW near to the Baltic Fleet pub in Briercliffe Road at 7-30pm on Wednesday.

A police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service to the accident around 7-40pm.

“The woman had a minor head injury and was taken to hospital. No arrests were made.” Police closed part of Latham Street for a short time following the incident.
