Amanda Hanson spent 22 years working in Burnley Market Hall, setting up her own stall, Sweet William florists, named in honour of her late father, six years ago.

She has now turned over a new leaf by opening her own shop in Standish Street.

And the mum-of-two has just one regret _ that she did not do it sooner. She said: “My success is thanks to the many loyal customers I have who have become friends and also to the many new ones. The market hall was a good starting point but since moving I have never looked back.”

Burnley born and bred, Amanda attended the former St Hilda’s RC High School.
